Q: 10 men and 6 boys do a piece of work in 20 days while 12 men and 4 boys can do this work in 18 days. How many days will 8 men and 8 boys take to do the work?
A. 35  B. 45
C. 22.5 D. 27.5

Answer and Explanation

Answer:22.5

Explanation:
10 men + 6 boys complete the work in 20 days
(10 × 20) men + (6 × 20) boys complete the work in 1 day
200 men + 120 boys complete the work in 1 day => (1)
12 men + 4 boys complete the work in 18 days
(12 × 18) men + (4 × 18) boys complete the work in 1 day
216 men + 72 boys complete the work in 1 day => (2)
(216 – 200) men = (120 – 72) boys example. 16 men = 48boys
1 man = 3 boys.
10 men + 6 boys = 3 (10) boys + 6 boys = 36 boys
8 men + 8 boys = 3 (8) boys + 8 boys = 32 boys
36/32 = ?/20
? (36 × 20)/32 = 22.5 days
