Explanation:
Upstream speed = d/t = 20/6 = 10/3 km/hr.
Downstream speed = 18/4 = 9/2 km/hr
Speed of boat in still water = (10/3 + 9/2) / 2
(20 + 27) / 6 × 2 = 47/12 = 3 11/12 km/hr
Speed of water current = (9/2 – 10/3)/2 = 27 – 20 / 12
