Q: Two towns P and Q are 110 km apart. A motor cycle rider starts from P towards Q at 7:00 am at a speed of 20 km/hr. Another rider starts from Q towards P at 8.00 am at a speed of 25 km/hr. find when they will cross each other.
A. 9.45 am B. 9.30 am
C. 10 am D. None of these

Answer and Explanation

Answer:10 am

Explanation:
Let the two riders meet after x hours from the time the first rider starts
20x + 25(x-1)=110
20x + 25x – 25 = 110
4x = 135
x = 135/45 = 3 hrs
they meet at 10 am.
