Marriage is a social trap because here in India there are still so many families who only worry about their child?s marriage but not bother about his/her future plans, especially for women. As soon as a child completes his /her graduation or moves from teenager to adult , they enforced by their parents to get marry to unknown persons.

Still this situation of social trap and social bonds is there in India, whereas today India is moving towards the era of latest technology. Still in India dowry system and child marriages are still there. And what this society needs is just that commitment but for this commitment binding people by a social custom called marriage is not worth doing.

In Indian context, marriage is a heavenly fixed occasion celebrated on the Earth. It not only binds two persons, but also two families that scatter a rich blend of joy in traditional format. The persons entering into the relationship are bind physically and emotionally thus routing the couple to establish a spiritual relationship, which outweighs the physical relationship. An emotional wavelength of individuals has to be altered, to sustain the relationship which sprouts and spreads sporadic joy forever in their life. The feeling of being binded with a person makes another feel strong that he has a soul mate, with which he can share everything. Sense of belongingness inspires the individual to perform their obligations in social and professional areas.
Rituals and customs establish public relations with friends and relatives that keep an individual strong psychologically. On health perspective, having only one committed partner will keep a person away from the contagious diseases communicated through physical contact. The marriages are thought for the sake of life because of which the divorce rate is as low as 1.1% and it assures the compensation like dowry and ensures the social, astrological compatibility of the couple and make sure that the bond is going to attain permanency. Indian marriages especially have such a great combination of individual and social bonds.

Marriage is a binding and bonding more of love, trust and commitments towards each other less than stress, frustration and screwing up from the partners. There are many examples where marriage can become social trap and life can become not less than hell but that also depends on a couple who are married as they should have the sense of understanding, faith, loyalty, trust, love and responsibility and even value and adore each other.

But if any of them is not happy with each other or doesn?t want to marry then it can become a social trap.
Some don?t think as marriage a social trap due to the bonding and love between themselves. They respect marriage and Indian values, customs and traditions and due to this thinking they have a positive approach for marriage and they handle the situations and problems in the marriage really in a wonderful manner. It can?t be a social trap for them as they wanted to get married with the person they are happy and they are happy living together with the commitments and responsibilities fulfilled.

But there are exceptions in the rules and regulations of marriage. Take an example ? In India a married wife can sue her husband and relatives with any proof. A Indian married woman can put her husband, his parents, relatives, sisters, brothers behind bars through a verbal or written complaint to police. I hope in that case it is trap where rules and laws are misused for other negative benefits.

So there are conditions where an marriage can be a social trap and it is totally depend upon the married couple how they handle their problems and bad situations in their life with great support of each other.

Hence, I conclude that-
Marriage is different for different people depending on their perceptions, understandings and trust.

Certainly marriage is a social trap which a family expects their children to fall in which depletes the total individualistic features by sweeping out the personal freedom. A man is a man first, and then he is a social being. Infact there exists as difference between a person and himself, as there exists the difference between a people to the other person.

So how can one simply get into a relationship for which no one can guarantee how the feelings, situation change in the future, which may seek high mortal freedom. Apart from this, there exists domestic violence, dowry system, caste, religion, colour and height matching, individual differences which leads to personal dissatisfaction that decompresses personal freedom and kills the valuable life time inspiring to psychological disorders and gets humiliated by the partner, which gives an opinion that ?marriage makes a man disrupt.?
Though harassment might not be the only case that stands against the marriage, but who knows what a person wants exactly? Once bonded, marriage is a social obligation, which has to be bear, even at the cost of sacrificing their personal motives and freedom.

Being together, having no mutual respect, feelings and understanding certainly make the marriage, ?a social trap.?

I know of couples who have been married a long time and are happy, but one or other has cheated to some degree. I feel to expect one person to be your 'everything' for the whole of your life is a tall order.
When I was physically with my boyfriend, he was wonderful, even at the end (he was never physically or verbally abusive)i was soooo happy in his presence. But the cheating, when i eventually found out about it, i just could not handle it, some people can shut it out if the life they have with that person is good, is that a bad thing? i guess that's for the individual and what works for them.

I don't think it is a social trap.. For me, it is a thing which should not be played but instead, to be taken seriously.. Marriage is not like food that when you think you can't take it anymore, you just spit it out.. Marriage for me is a sacred rite done by couples bonded by love and commitment..

However, it seems that many people are not already preserving the sacredness of marriage because of the laws of divorce and annulment.. I don't say I disagree with the law.. I'm just a little sad because people are taking advantage of those laws to break away from their family.. and of course, it is the children who suffers the consequence of their parents separation.. I have always dreamed of having an intact and closely knitted family members.. but it seems it's not really possible nowadays.. I just hope the coming generations will become more careful in choosing the right person to get marry so that broken families could be lessen

May be if the marriage if for better intention it is well and good. Moreover it is seen in cases like which the bride marries or groom marries for other intentions are really a trap. In India a married wife can sue her husband and her family with any proof. A married women in India could even put her husband and his parents, sisters, and brothers to jail with only her verbal or written complaint to police. I hope in that case it is a trap where rules and laws are misused for other negative benefits.
