Q: Eight persons Ankit, Bobby, Chetan, Dheru, Parvez, Qadir, Rinku and Sahil sit in two parallel rows with four seats in each row facing each other. Ankit and Bobby are not in the same row. Parvez sits to the immediate left of Chetan in the same row but opposite to Qadir. Rinku and Bobby have only two persons between them. Ankit and Parvez have only one person between them. Which of these pairs of persons can sit diagonally opposite each other?
A. Sahil and Dheru or Qadir and Rinku.
B. Parvez and Ankit or Ankit and Chetan.
C. Ankit and Bobby or Rinku and Chetan. D. Either (1) or (2)

Answer and Explanation

Answer:Ankit and Bobby or Rinku and Chetan.

Explanation:
Parvez sits to the immediate left of Chetan in the same row and opposite to Qadir. Ankit and Parvez have only one person between them. So, the arrangement in that
row can be
Parvez, Chetan Ankit - or
Ankit - Parvez, Chetan.
Rinku and Bobby have two persons between them. So in their row, it may be Rinku — Bobby or
Bobby - - Rinku
As Parvez sits opposite to Qadir, the two rows must have people as follows.
Rinku / Bobby - Qadir Rinku/Bobby
Ankit - Parvez Chetan
So, Ankit and Bobby may be diagonally opposite, just as Chetan and Rinku can be.
