Q: There are 40 students in a class. Out of these students, one student whose weight is 100 kg goes away and at the same time a new student gets admitted into the class. Thus the average weight of the students increases by ΒΌ kg. find the weight of the new student.
A. 105kg B. 115kg
C. 107kg D. 110kg

Answer and Explanation

Answer:110kg

Explanation:
∑X / n = ∑X / 40
Let A  = weight of new student
Xnew   = X + 0.25
∑Xnew = ∑X – 100 + A
(X + 0.25)40 = (X)40 – 100 + A
40X + 10 = 40X – 100 + A
A = 110 kg
